Description
Description
Clearwood® is a modern woody patchouli material valued for its clean, smooth, and highly refined character. It captures the dark depth of patchouli while removing much of the earthy, camphoraceous harshness associated with the natural oil, making it particularly useful for polished woody, amber, and musk compositions. Launched in 2014, Clearwood became the first commercially available fragrance ingredient produced through white biotechnology—an innovation that opened a new chapter in modern perfumery.
Olfactory Profile: A clean and contemporary patchouli material with dark woody facets, creamy amber warmth, and a gentle earthy undertone. Rich in patchoulol, Clearwood® imparts long-lasting depth, smoothness, and a sophisticated patchouli signature without the heavier medicinal or damp qualities of traditional patchouli oil. It can be used alone for a transparent woody effect or combined with natural patchouli to make the accord cleaner, fuller, and more modern.
